WORKSHOP #2 by Seeyousioe: ACTIVISM IN THE SPOTLIGHT
1–3 pm
What moves you? In this hands-on workshop, you will translate your topic - from public transportation to climate, healthcare, or school safety - into a powerful protest sign that will be seen and read. We will work with simple shapes, strong words, and clear contrast. You will learn how visual language (icons, metaphors, typography) and a short, clear slogan reinforce each other, and how to formulate your message respectfully and safely. No drawing experience is necessary; we will build step by step towards a sign that you can take home with you afterwards.
About the facilitator:
Sioe Jeng Tsao (she/they), also known as SEEYOUSIOE, is a queer multidisciplinary artist with roots in the Netherlands, China, and West Papua. Based in Rotterdam, she creates vibrant work that blends digital illustration and painting to explore identity, migration, queer joy, and social justice.
Her art invites connection and reflection — bold in color, soft in intention. In 2025, she published her illustrated memoir Mijn Tijd in de Zon and opened her first curated exhibition De Liefde die Blijft at CODA Museum.
Through decolonial storytelling, workshops, and community projects, Sioe Jeng uses art as both a protest and a healing force.
