Kunstinstituut Melly will be closed to visitors from 5 to 23 October as we prepare the building for the opening of You will find us in the best places on 24 October.
You will find us in the best places: a survey exhibition of Moshekwa Langa
On Saturday 24 October, Kunstinstituut Melly opens You will find us in the best places, a major survey exhibition of South African artist Moshekwa Langa. The exhibition will unfold across all four floors of Kunstinstituut Melly, bringing together works from Moshekwa’s practice, from 1995 to 2026. You will find us in the best places is the most comprehensive presentation of Moshekwa’s work in the Netherlands to date, curated by Gabi Ngcobo, Director of Kunstinstituut Melly, together with curator Kabelo Malatsie.
A short pause for our Saturday workshops
Our free Saturday workshops are taking a short break while Melly is closed from 5 to 23 October as we install You Will Find Us in the Best Places. This means there will be no workshop on Saturday 3 October either. The workshops return on Saturday 31 October, with a new series of sessions led by different artists and inspired by Moshekwa Langa’s exhibition.

Exclusive installation preview for Friends
On Friday 16 October at 4:30 pm, Friends of Melly are invited to a special behind-the-scenes preview of You will find us in the best places, taking place during the final stage of the installation. During the preview, Friends will receive an exclusive tour of the building and exhibition spaces, led by Elijah Rhode, who conducted the research for the exhibition, and Jeroen Lavèn, who oversees all installations at Melly. You can become a Friend of Melly from €35 per year. As a Friend, you receive exclusive invitations to programs and tours like this one, free access to Melly throughout the year, and discounts on merchandise and publications.
