Art Rotterdam – Visit Kunstinstituut Melly at Booth G6
Kunstinstituut Melly will be at Art Rotterdam from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 March 2026, Booth G6, presenting donna Kukama’s Evidence from The Museum of Soft Labour and Riet Wijnen’s Sixteen Conversations on Abstraction Tool Two (Clock).
Reflections – Bartering Experiment: Suitcase Economy at Art Rotterdam
On Sunday, 29 March 2026, Kunstinstituut Melly invites you to Reflections at Art Rotterdam, from 5 pm to 6 pm, walk-in. Riet Wijnen brings Suitcase Economy to the fair, developing a method to connect daily contexts in Limburg (NL), South Korea, and South Africa through histories of preservation and fermentation. By running this experimental canteen, she explores how cultural practices, food, and collective care can create shared experiences across different communities.
Kunstavond XL — Rotterdam Art Week: CLiP #7 Sneak Peek
On Friday, 27 March 2026, Kunstinstituut Melly joins V2, WORM, and MaMA for Kunstavond XL, opening doors from 18:00 to 23:00 along the Witte de Withstraat. Experience installations, performances, music, and tours, and immerse yourself in contemporary art across four institutions on one street. Final Event — CLiP #7: The End is Both Near and Already Here; Prepping for Collective Beginnings
On Saturday, 28 March 2026, Kunstinstituut Melly invites you to the final public moment of CLiP #7: The Garage School of Prepping Otherwise, open from 13:00 to 18:00 on the ground floor. Experience performances, workshops, panel discussions, and an info market, and immerse yourself in six months of collaborative learning and creative exploration. Don’t miss participants sharing their letters to the future(s) we are preparing (for): multimedia reflections on the question “What Can it Mean to Survive Together?”.
Spirit Faith Grace Rage – Marilyn Nance
Explore five decades of photography, sound, and archival work by visionary Brooklyn-based artist and archivist Marilyn Nance. Her work connects personal moments with historical movements, celebrating resilience, love, and community action worldwide. This exhibition demonstrates how personal archives can serve as a powerful counter-narrative to official histories.
Suitcase Economy – Riet Wijnen
Riet Wijnen transforms our ground floor into a vibrant communal space centered on food and sharing. Through installations, drawings, ceramics, and an experimental canteen, this ongoing intervention explores informal economies, fermentation, and collaboration—offering new ways of living together. Visitors are invited to eat, listen, talk, and participate in workshops.
I Breathe, You Breathe – donna Kukama
Experience art as a rhythm of breathing in donna Kukama’s immersive exhibition of sound, video, drawings, sculptures, and performances. Her work approaches history as fluid and alive, inviting new storytelling and freedom of movement.
