Every first Friday of the month, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, V2_, WORM, MaMA, and Kunstinstituut Melly open their doors for free during the vibrant Kunstavond. The Witte de With Quarter transforms into the epicenter of cutting-edge art in Rotterdam, featuring exhibitions, installations, performances, talks, music, and more. Four institutions within one block showcase where experimentation and innovation in art come to life. Four institutions, one block, infinite discoveries. Kunstavond is organized by Kunstblock, a collaborative network of institutions along Witte de Withstraat.

In Between Screens: Take a Break from IFFR in Suitcase Economy

Step into Suitcase Economy at Kunstinstituut Melly between IFFR screenings and enjoy a moment of pause. All visitors with an IFFR ticket receive a free soft drink and Suitcase Economy–inspired snacks will also be available.

Created by artist Riet Wijnen, Suitcase Economy transforms MELLY’s ground-floor café and event space into a welcoming social area for gathering, listening, and meal-sharing. Inspired by the movement of produce in suitcases, bartering, and techniques of fermentation and preservation, the project connects food, history, and place through collaborative artistic interventions.
