Book Launch: Paulo Nimer Pjota

On the occasion of the exhibition A Lua e Eu (The Moon and I) by Paulo Nimer Pjota, currently on view at Kunstinstituut Melly, we are pleased to host the launch of a newly published book dedicated to the artist’s work. Published by DISTANZ Verlag GmbH, in collaboration with Kunstinstituut Melly, Mendes Wood DM, Maureen Paley and François Ghebaly, the publication accompanies Pjota’s first institutional solo exhibition and his debut in the Netherlands.

The launch will take place in our Melly Cantina and will include a conversation between Paulo Nimer Pjota, our director Gabi Ngcobo and the artist MF Andrade. This will be complemented by a musical program inspired by Pjota’s practice, as well as bites and drinks. The book will be available for purchase during the event.

Visitors are warmly invited to join us for the launch. You can also explore the exhibition, which remains on view till 21 September 2025.
