Symposium Yto Barrada

On the occasion of the presentation of Yto Barrada’s photographic work, Witte de With is organizing a series of debates. The discussions will address the issue of migration in contemporary Moroccan society.
Participants to the symposium will compare their experiences and research in an effort to understand the influence of migration and its impact in this part of the world.
Participants: Yto Barrada, Sylvaine Bulle, Aboubakr Jamaï, Bouchra Khalili, Fouad Laroui, Anaïs Masson, Stefania Pandolfo, Maxence Rifflet, Nadia Tazi. Catherine David will chair the proceedings.
The debate will be conducted in English.

11.15 – 11.45 a.m. Book presentation Fais un Fils et Jette-le à la Mer(Paris: Sujet Objet, 2003) by Anaïs Masson and Maxence Rifflet
11.45 a.m. – 1 p.m. Yto Barrada, Nadia Tazi
1 – 2 p.m. Lunch break
2 – 4.30 p.m. Discussions with Sylvaine Bulle, Fouad Laroui, Bouchra Khalili, Stefania Pandolfo, and Aboubakr Jamaï
5 p.m. Opening of the exhibition
