The Big Draw

On October 1st and second the international “The Big Draw” festival is back in Rotterdam with the aim to get everyone to draw. During the two-day festival visitors can participate to free workshops, master classes and tours between 1pm and 5pm at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, MAMA, TENT, Villa Zebra and the Art Library.

It's your party! - Femke Gerestein

Witte de With and TENT host a workshop by artists Femke Gerestein who will throw a drawing party for all. Even for those who think they cant’t draw at all.

Sure, drawing can seem incredibly difficult. What to draw when everything is possible? And how do you make your pencil see what is in you minds eye? During this workshop Femke will show you how exciting it can be when you allow your pencil to have a will of it’s own.

From a single line a whole world can reveal itself, whter real or imagined. Some worlds don’t need more than a single line while others are made up of thousands and thousands of pencil strokes.

The workshop starts with a game of shadows which results in the fisrt line being drawn. Wht happens next is up to you, after all its your party.
