WORKSHOP: On Dropping Out with Wendy Tronrud

What positive and negative consequences are there to saying ’no’ to the system? Our educational system produces dropouts and this became, for a short while, a crowning gesture of a counterculture. But who chooses to drop out and who is chosen? Educators, art mediators and museum professionals are invited to join a workshop with Wendy Tronrud in the framework of a new exhibition at Witte de With exploring various cases of dropping out. The phenomenon of dropping out continually raises more questions than answers. What does the dropout become symptomatic of and what can we learn from the “dropout” in terms of our own models of productivity and living?
