Andrea Celeste La Forgia
Andrea Celeste La Forgia is an artist based in Rotterdam. Working across archival research, painting, prop-making, and theatrical performance, her practice interweaves family experience with histories of class struggle to explore the intersections of class, labour, and art-making. Mobilising theatre, collaboration, and pedagogical encounters,
her practice foregrounds how social class is lived, embodied, and reproduced through contemporary labour. Central to her work is an ongoing collaboration with her mother, a lifelong factory worker in Italy, through which lived working-class knowledge, tools and imagination become methods, critical frameworks and sites of creative agency. She holds a BA from Camberwell College of Arts, London, and an MA from the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam. Her work has been shown at A Tale of a Tub, Rib and MAMA (NL), Toplocentrala (BG), Hopscotch Reading Room (GE), Kirchgasse (CH), the Walker Art Gallery (UK), The British School at Rome, and MAXXI (IT).
