Diego Oliveira
Diego Oliveira is a Brazilian Movement Artist, Choreographer and Artistic Coach based in Amsterdam. With more than two decades of experience across dance, performance, education and community building, he creates environments where movement becomes a pathway for artistic research, self-discovery and transformation.
Rooted in his Brazilian heritage and shaped by contemporary performance, club culture and somatic practice, Diego's work explores the body as a source of wisdom, identity and expression. As an educator, he supports people in moving beyond learned patterns and discovering an authentic movement language rooted in their own experience.
A graduate of the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) at the Amsterdam University of the Arts, Diego teaches and mentors at AHK, Fontys Dance Academy, ArtEZ, Chassé Dance Studios and Dance Connects Community.
He is the founder of OM Flow (Organic Movement Flow), an evolving movement methodology exploring ancestry, embodiment, rhythm and artistic expression, and Axénte, a community exploring House, groove and Afro-Brazilian dances through culture, connection and movement.
In his work, Diego often asks:
What becomes possible when we stop controlling the body and start listening to it?
For Sacred Pelvis, this question becomes an invitation to explore the pelvis as a centre of rhythm, vitality, sensuality and creative expression.
