Fonds 21

Young people need imagination to see themselves and the world around them differently. Not as a form of escape, but as a starting point—a space to dream, experiment, and explore their own path. That space is not equally accessible to everyone.

Fonds 21 is dedicated to investing in that space. We select and support projects that make imagination accessible through art, culture, education, and social engagement. We serve as a gateway for ideas that open up new perspectives, look beyond the familiar, and inspire young people to experience a world that is broader than what is often presented to them.

We do this through three funding pillars: Art & Culture, Youth & Society, and Art & Education. With an annual budget of €12 million, we invest in initiatives across the Netherlands. Large or small, what matters is that they contribute to our central mission: creating space for imagination for young people aged 12 to 30.
