Rotterdam Art Week 2026
Rotterdam Art Week 2026
From 25 – 29 March 2026, Rotterdam transforms into a city-wide celebration of art. Across more than 60 locations, discover fairs, exhibitions, open studios, tours, artist talks, and more. From high-profile openings to surprising pop-up shows, for five days art is everywhere—ready to be seen, experienced, and lived.
Our Program During Rotterdam Art Week
Kunstinstituut Melly presents three unique ways to experience our world, each with its own voice, story, and rhythm:
Spirit Faith Grace Rage – Marilyn Nance
Explore five decades of photography, sound, and archival work by visionary Brooklyn-based artist and archivist Marilyn Nance. Her work connects personal moments with historical movements, celebrating resilience, love, and community action worldwide. This exhibition demonstrates how personal archives can serve as a powerful counter-narrative to official histories.
Suitcase Economy – Riet Wijnen
Riet Wijnen transforms our ground floor into a vibrant communal space centered on food and sharing. Through installations, drawings, ceramics, and an experimental canteen, this ongoing intervention explores informal economies, fermentation, and collaboration—offering new ways of living together. Visitors are invited to eat, listen, talk, and participate in workshops.
I Breathe, You Breathe – donna Kukama
Experience art as a rhythm of breathing in donna Kukama’s immersive exhibition of sound, video, drawings, sculptures, and performances. Her work approaches history as fluid and alive, inviting new storytelling and freedom of movement.
Art Rotterdam & Kunstavond XL
Kunstinstituut Melly will be present with a booth at Art Rotterdam (Friday 27 – Sunday 29 March 2026), presenting limited edition artworks. On Kunstavond XL (Friday 27 March 2026), all cultural institutions along Witte de Withstraat open their doors late into the evening with special programming. Join us for a night of immersive art experiences and performances.
