Activity inspired by the work of Sijben Rosa

Do you have an object that holds immense value for you? Something so precious that you would never want to let it go for as long as you live. This activity will lead you through the solo exhibition of artist Sijben Rosa at Kunstinstituut Melly. Learn about the artist's collaboration with volunteers and the sculptures in the exhibition space.

To create the sculptures, the artist collaborated with four people whose sense of mortality is heightened by aging or illness. By engaging with each other, they explored which objects in their immediate environment are meaningful to them and what personal values these objects represent. They also reflected on questions such as: “What objects would you want to leave behind, hold on to, or take with you when you die?”

Carry this activity with you and complete it during your visit to the exhibition.
