[EXTENTED] Graduation Show Willem de Kooning Academy: Fine Art and Design Education Program
11 am–6 pm
Exhibition extended
Due to the closure on Friday 26 June caused by extreme heat, the Graduation Show Willem de Kooning Academy: Fine Art and Design Education Program will be extended. The exhibition is therefore now also open to visitors on Sunday 29 June.
Intermezzo
The new generation of graduating artist educators and art teachers from the Willem de Kooning Academy presents their graduation projects in the Space for Education & Participation at Kunstinstituut Melly.
Through research-driven and practice-based approaches, they engage with pressing contemporary social issues and develop new ways of entering into dialogue with their surroundings. Ecology, inclusion, technology, shame, displacement, and connection are among the themes that link their work.
The projects move between art, education, and social engagement, ranging from installations and participatory works to conversations, workshops, and performative interventions. Through visual expression, research, and collective experiences, the graduates invite visitors not only to observe but also to actively participate, investigate, and explore new perspectives.
Intermezzo marks a moment of transition: between education and professional practice, between maker and audience. Throughout both days, visitors can take part in a programme of presentations, workshops, and activities developed by and with the graduating students, offering multiple opportunities for exchange, reflection, and shared learning.
