Free Saturday Workshop #3 - The Voice Not Yet Heard
1–3 pm
Free Saturday Workshops at Kunstinstituut Melly
Education & Participation Space
Since the opening of our Education & Participation Space, Kunstinstituut Melly has become a vibrant place for workshops, lectures, and collective learning experiences. Every Saturday, we organize free workshops open to everyone, where creativity, connection, and personal expression are at the heart of the experience.
In April 2026, the Saturday workshops will once again be led by Nurdan Ariöz with What You Haven’t Said Yet. This new series invites participants to work with spoken word, collage, and personal objects to give shape to stories that often remain unspoken. Through writing and image-making, participants contribute to a growing digital archive of personal narratives.
The Education & Participation Space functions as a place for learning, exchange, and collective imagination, where participants meet each other, share ideas, and explore new forms of creation together.
Workshop Series — What You Haven’t Said Yet
Kunstinstituut Melly will host in April 2026 a special workshop series led by Nurdan Ariöz.
What You Haven’t Said Yet is an open spoken word workshop in which personal stories are made visible through image, text, and voice. The workshop series consists of three sessions, each of which can be followed independently. Participants explore different ways of writing: starting from collage, from a personal object, and through an ode to an unseen talent. The project begins from the idea that everyone carries a story that rarely finds a stage. Participants are invited to shape and share this story.
Each workshop results in a finished work, a combination of text, image, or audio which is added to an online publication. This website functions as a growing archive of voices that would otherwise remain unseen. Spoken word is approached as an accessible medium for self-expression and for connecting visual art, language, and personal narratives.
Workshop #3 — The Voice Not Yet Heard
An ode to unseen talent
In this first session, you begin with the visual. Using intuitive collages, you create an image that serves as the starting point for your writing. Based on what is visible and what remains unseen, you develop a personal spoken word text.
The session starts with a short introduction to spoken word, followed by collage-making. You then translate your image into language. There is also space to share your work and reflect together.
Your contribution, collage and text, will be digitized and added to the online archive.
