SENSORY TOUR | deaf and hard of hearing
3–4 pm
Discover our latest exhibitions for the deaf and hard of hearing. This Sensory Tour is led by Kirsten de Ven - Smit, an experienced art mediator with expertise in guiding deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. The tour is conducted in Dutch Sign Language (NGT) and is suitable for both adults and children.
At Kunstinstituut Melly, we make art accessible to everyone, regardless of needs or abilities. Our Sensory Tour program offers guided tours specifically designed to meet the sensory and cognitive needs of our visitors.
The tours cater to two specific groups: the blind and visually impaired, and the deaf and hard of hearing. Each tour is designed to provide an inclusive and meaningful experience, allowing participants to engage with art in a way that suits them.
On Saturday, May 31, at 3:00 PM, our art mediator, Kirsten de Ven - Smit, will continue the tour.
Our trained art mediators create a warm and enriching environment where visitors can experience art in unique ways. With their knowledge, empathy, and creativity, they ensure that everyone feels welcome and can actively participate in the conversation.
Sensory Tours demonstrate that art is for everyone. The program brings people together and breaks down barriers through shared stories and experiences.
