Jasmijn Visser
Jasmijn Visser is a visual artist and scholar based in Utrecht and Berlin. Her practice centres on complexity, particularly in relation to geopolitical conflict. She examines the structures, aesthetics and narrative patterns of geopolitical cases, and proposes new forms of complexity framing. Visser is currently a fellow in the Rethinking Environments programme at the Rachel Carson Center Munich / Wissenschaftszentrum Umwelt Augsburg, and serves as the artistic director of the Anglo-German interdisciplinary workgroup Cultural Climate Models. Previously, Visser was a resident at De Ateliers in Amsterdam (2011) and was a fellow at Delfina Arts Foundation in London (2016) and the Meertens Institute in Amsterdam (2020). Her work has been exhibited at institutions including SongEun Artspace, Seoul; CENART, Mexico City; Transmediale, Berlin; Moscow Museum of Modern Art; Museum Centre Krasnoyarsk; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Tranzitdisplay, Prague; Kunsthalle Copenhagen; Villa Romana, Florence; and the Allard Pierson Museum, Amsterdam.
