Amira Gad
Amira Gad (Egyptian / French) is an art curator, writer and editor in modern and contemporary art and architecture. She is currently Conservator of Modern & Contemporary Art at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam, the Netherlands). Gad is a prominent figure in the international art world with a strong background in curating large-scale exhibitions and working with renowned contemporary artists. Previously held positions include Serpentine Galleries (London), KANAL-Centre Pompidou (Brussels) and Kunstinstituut Melly (Rotterdam). Over the years, she has curated exhibitions by Ian Cheng, Sondra Perry, Arthur Jafa, Hito Steyerl, Zaha Hadid, Simon Denny, Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, amongst others. Gad has been part of a number of juries including the Oskár Čepan Award 2022 and 2024, OGR Award 2023, Prix de Rome 2019 and 2021 in Visual Arts and the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR)’s Ammodo Tiger Short Awards 2021. She is a regular lecturer, juror and contributor to artists’ catalogs and has edited a number of books on contemporary art.
