Resonating Surfaces, directed by Manon de Boer, 2005, 39 mins
This film is a triple portrait, of a city, a woman and an attitude to life. The personal story of Suely Rolnik, a Brazilian psychoanalyst living in São Paulo, moves between the Brazilian dictatorship of the sixties and the Parisian intellectual circle around Deleuze and Guattari in the seventies. The multi-layered film explores issues such as our relation to “otherness”, the connection between the body and power, the voice and, ultimately, the micropolitics of desire and of resistance.
This film premieres at FID, Documentary Film Festival of Marseilles 2006.

Homme à Femmes (Michel Debrane), directed by Gerard Byrne, 2004, 20 mins
A video documenting an attempt to re-enact a 1977 interview conducted between the French intellectual Jean-Paul Sartre and the young feminist journalist Catherine Chaine. Actor Michel Debrane, who portrays Sartre, is asked by an off-screen interviewer about his relationships with women and about being a male chauvinist.

Thursday 11 May 2006, 7:30 p.m.
Lost in La Mancha, directed by Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe, 2002, 90 mins.
A documentary portraying Terry Gilliam's failed
attempt to film the epic story of Don Quijote. This is the “making-of” of a “non-making”, a brutal -portrait of sabotage and bad luck, and the very crux of the Don Quijote story -itself (incidentally also that of Terry Gilliam…)
