SUMMER PROGRAM: UNDER THE BAOBAB: An event by Omek

Live Book Tickets

Language: English
Location: MELLY (ground-floor)

Kunstinstituut Melly is opening its doors for a special event by Omek.

Omek is a community-centric platform dedicated to the social and professional advancement of African diaspora talent. With their ongoing monthly discussion series, Under the Baobab, they aim to collectively learn and share knowledge about the African culture, identity, and history. This time, on August 8, we will primarily explore the existence and stories of specifically black creatives in the art world & unfold the trajectories that artists have to take in order to create, showcase and make a living from their art. They will do so with filmmaker Robert-Jonathan Koeyers, in-house fellow curator and photographer Aqueene Wilson, and dancer Kelly Bigirindavyi as their invited guest.

So, are you ready to reimagine the bicultural experience? Sign up via this link.
