Announcement of nominees for the Prize for Young Dutch Art Criticism 2022
The Prize for Young Dutch Art Criticism is an incentive prize for a new generation of critics and essayists from the Dutch-speaking world who write about contemporary visual art. The organizers and jury are pleased to announce the nominees for the Prize for Young Dutch Art Criticism 2022:

This year an incentive prize will also be awarded in the category Innovative Art Critical Practices, focusing on new (digital, experimental, or unusual) paths and narrative methods. With this, the initiators of the prize want to identify and stimulate individuals or initiatives that make an innovative contribution to Dutch-language reflection on visual art.
Innovative Art Critical Practices
Werktitel (Zoë Dankert and Alix de Massiac)
The winners of the categories Review and Essay (grand prize €3,000 and a mentorship) and Innovative Art Critical Practices (€1,500) will be presented at the festive awards ceremony on Thursday, 15 December at Museum M in Leuven. The ceremony will start at 6 pm, and walk-in at 5:30 pm. Followed by drinks until approximately 8:30 pm. The online publication with all nominated pieces will also be presented at the ceremony. The jury of The Prize for Young Dutch Art Criticism 2022 is led by Grâce Ndjako (philosopher, writer, translator, and coordinator of De Nieuwe Garde) and further consists of Bas Blaasse (writer and editor HART), Zeynep Kubat (writer, curator, and editor rekto:verso), Jorne Vriens (writer and lecturer Reinwardt Academy and winner of the Prize for Young Art Criticism 2018) and Joost de Vries (writer and deputy editor-in-chief De Groene Amsterdammer).
The prize is an initiative of Kunstinstituut Melly, Mondriaan Fonds, de Appel, Stedelijk Museum, Van Abbemuseum, M Leuven, Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond, Mu.ZEE and Z33 Huis voor Actuele Kunst, Design & Architectuur.
